  • Issue#1115157: HP - Malware: From Detection to the Source

The concern over cybercrime continues to increase and along with it, the increased need for built-in enterprise security. Attacks via malware are second only to malicious insiders. There are a lot of statistics in the industry about the time and cost involved in recovering from attacks. Last year, it was estimated the average annual cost organizations incurred due to cybercrime was $15 million1. While many factors contribute to this number, I would like share my personal productivity experience ...

  • Issue#1142160: Invalid Credentials for Data Source on Scheduled Refresh

Power BI randomly seems to throw errors for "Invalid Credentials" on ODATA sources that I have setup on a scheduled refresh. The credentials have never changed, so I'm not sure why they would ever be invalid. Seems like a bug in the authentication process or storage of the credentials. This causes problems when the scheduled refresh fails several times and then cancels itself, requiring me to reauthenticate. Has anyone else seen this issue?...

  • Issue#1177291: A new exception management library (open source)

I've created an exception management service for .NET.  It will pickup unhandled exceptions, collect context information and upload everything to your local OneTrueError server for further analysis. It basically do everything that you should have done when you logged that exception using log4net etc. You can read about it here: http://onetrueerror.com Below is the reporting pipeline (illustrating everything it does before the server picks up the exception report for further analysis): I...

  • Issue#711404: Unable to identify GPO source - IE security options

Hi everyone, I cannot seem identify the policy or setting that is disabling the Custom Level option for all zones on the Security tab of IE options. None of the OU specific computer or user policies nor domain policies show the disable setting in effect. When browsing the tree where this option is all of the policies are in a "Not Configured" state. The User config policy is using IE Maintenance settings, but do you think that just the fact it is in effect would disable the Custom Level option?...

Hi!   Using snmp looking at the jnxJsNatSrcNumSessions it seems very un-balanced for our nat source pool user-shared-pool (x.y.142.0-x.y.142.255). • Issue#825028: Autodesk - Updating Layers from Xref Object Source File

I went into my xref object source file and re-organized everything into layers. When I enter my master file and update the xref object, the layers don't update. I would just delete the xref and then add it again, but then I'll lose all of the animation data I have locally. Is there a way to easily update/inherit the Layers and Source Names of the objects in my xref? I am using the Preset: Rig to Animate and so my tracks are set to local, modifiers to Xref, and Match Layers by Name and Paren...

  • Issue#857101: Ubuntu - open source replacement for MS-Access

I have experience using MS-Access to develop simple database applications, but I'd like to keep my new project open source. So far, every gui platform I have found has serious inadequacies. For example libreoffice base and kexi both don't support UPDATE queries. I have also tried MySQL Workbench and SQLiteman but can't seem to figure out how to do anything like I want, which is create forms that will allow users to update my tables. I really don't need to do anything more complicated than have...

  • Issue#14574: Linux - Telecoms Look Past Cisco and HP to Open Source Hardware

Quote: Google runs one of the largest computer networks on Earth, a web of machines that extends from Oregon to Finland to Taiwan. This is how it delivers so many Internet services to so many people in so many countries so quickly, from Google Search to Google Maps to YouTube. The irony is that Google built this vast network without much help from companies like Cisco, Dell, HP, and IBM—companies that supply the hardware for most of the world’s computer networks. Google, y...
